“Politics is secondary, service is primary,” Dele Omosehin

The convener of the Asejere Progressive Movement, Dele Omosehin, has stated that politics is secondary to him, while serving the people remains his primary preoccupation.

Omosehin made this statement on Sunday at the Government Field, Okitipupa, during a brief remark at the Unity Cup Final between Alumagidi FC and Embavic FC.

The Unity Cup, an annual event, is sponsored by the Dele Omosehin Foundation(DOF), a non-governmental organisation dedicated to empowering the less privileged and vulnerable

He said his intention to represent the people of Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives is not a departure from service but rather an extension of it.

“I want to make it clear that my willingness to represent our people in the House of Representatives in the next election year is not a departure from service, but an extension of it.

“Politics, for me, is secondary. Service is primary,” he said.

Omosehin, who is the founder of DOF, said his goal in politics is to build on what he has already begun through his foundation.

The leading All Progressives Congress(APC) aspirant said his ultimate goal in seeking the Okititupa/Irele Federal Constituency seat is to use a broader platform to connect with more people, support more families, empower more youths and women, and deliver solutions on a larger scale.

“This journey is not about personal ambition. It is about the people. It is about ensuring that voices are heard, opportunities are created, and no one is forgotten,” he said.

The businessman and philanthropist said although “I have always shied away from politics, I am stepping forward today because of my desire to reach more people and do more good, with your support.”

“I am confident that if we have achieved this much together through community effort, we can achieve even more together when unity, trust, and purpose guide us,” he said.
