As the race for national legislative seats gains momentum, All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, Hon. Matthew Oye Oyerinmade, widely known as MATO, has unveiled plans to prioritise infrastructural renewal and community development across his federal constituencies.
In an exclusive interview, Oyerinmade stressed his determination to leverage federal support to complement ongoing state government projects.
“Our role is to assist the state government in bringing development to the area,” he said.
“Infrastructural decay has affected many communities, but by the grace of God, we have a lot to deliver.”
The APC chieftain, who hails from Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency, outlined intentions to facilitate major projects, including seaport and refinery developments, emphasising that cooperation with the state governor is vital for tangible progress.
“The most important thing is to work alongside our governor to facilitate these projects. Our responsibility is to be there to assist,” he explained.
Oyerinmade also commended the ongoing APC registration exercise, describing it as innovative and accessible.
“The process is seamless and not cumbersome. Wherever you are, you can register and be part of it. It is a welcome initiative that can be sustained nationwide,” he noted.
Turning to leadership, he lauded Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, highlighting his fear of God, dedication, and respect for people as qualities driving exceptional governance.
“Looking at him at 61, he doesn’t even appear his age. He is young in spirit, committed, and someone you can trust,” Oyerinmade said. “His fear of God enables him to perform extraordinarily, respecting everyone while delivering results.”
He expressed confidence in the governor’s enduring legacy, adding: “When he completes his assignment, he will leave significant legacies in governance and personality. Collaborative leadership is essential for sustainable development.”
