Ondo North rallies support for Adeogun’s senatorial bid

By Jimisayo Adebiyi

The people of Ondo North Senatorial District have thrown their weight behind Hon. Ade Adeogun to represent them at the National Assembly in the 2027 elections, describing him as a beacon of hope across the 72 wards in the district.

Mr Ayodele Ologunola, who spoke with journalists in Akure, said Adeogun is a man with a listening ear who commands respect among his colleagues and followers because he has the interest of his people at heart.

According to Ologunola, since Adeogun came to limelight during the 9th National Assembly as the member representing Akoko South West and Akoko South East Federal Constituency, he has become a mentor to many.

He said the legislator’s performance in the 9th Assembly prompted his supporters to urge him to contest for the Senate to rescue Ondo North Senatorial District from what he described as directionless leadership.

“What makes Hon. Ade Adeogun different from other aspirants is his genuine support for education, health, employment, infrastructure, and empowerment,” Ologunola stated.

He stressed that during Adeogun’s tenure in the House of Representatives, no fewer than 600 students gained admission into Upland College of Education, Ipesi and Ifira Akoko.

On empowerment, Ologunola said Adeogun provided capital for those who wanted to start businesses and responded swiftly to emergencies in his federal constituency.

Among the lawmaker’s achievements, he listed the construction of roads from Oka Odo Junction to St. Patrick’s College, Iwaro Oka; construction of a major bridge at Owake; building of a community hall at Oka Odo; support for electrification of new layout at Ayepe, Iwaro Oka; renovation of Oka Town Hall; construction of new transport garage at Oka; and construction of bridges at Ibaka, Ikanmu, Agba, and Ikese in Oka Akoko.

Others include construction of a block of four flats at Oka Police Station; construction of a pavilion at AC Grammar School, Oka; construction of a community hall at Idofin, Ayegunle Oka; solar powered borehole and water projects at Ibaka and Idofin; renovation of a hall at a secondary school in Korowa, Oka; construction of a new DSS office in Akungba Akoko; and construction of a bridge along Palace Road, Akungba Akoko.

Additional projects include construction of three classroom blocks at Muslim High School, Akungba Akoko; mechanised borehole with reticulation adjacent to African Church, Akungba Akoko; construction of six classroom blocks at Supare Akoko; solar powered borehole at Supare Akoko; renovation of the administrative block of Ajagbokun Secondary School, Ikun Akoko; and reconstruction of Awolowo, Irefun, Ode Arikansen, and Araromi roads in Oba Akoko.

He also facilitated the construction of a community civic centre in Oba Akoko; renovation of a mosque in Ose, Oba Akoko; provision of boreholes at Oloba Palace, Ifira Akoko, and Isua Akoko; renovation of six classroom blocks at Ipesi Akoko; construction of a motor park at Isua Akoko; construction of a bridge at Ipe Akoko; and facilitation of one kilometre reconstruction of Epinmi Akoko to Simerin Road.

In the education sector, Adeogun facilitated scholarships for 600 students into Upland College of Education, Ipesi/Ifira Akoko; bursary support for 200 students; supply of computers to secondary schools; and supply of English and Chemistry textbooks to all secondary schools in Akoko SE/SW Federal Constituency.

For economic empowerment, he provided buses to five community cooperative societies; supplied agrochemicals and farm inputs to 2,000 farmers; provided relief materials to accident victims in Akungba and Iwaro through the Federal Emergency Management Agency; provided relief materials to victims of rainstorms in Akoko SW through FEMA; and provided empowerment support to artisans, tailors, hairdressers, beauticians, photographers, musicians, and DJs.

He also provided grants and tools to caterers, mechanics, welders, and carpenters; supplied block making machines to selected block makers; facilitated agricultural loans to over 100 people, some of which he is still repaying; and facilitated payment of COVID 19 grants to over 1,000 constituents.

On employment, Adeogun facilitated the employment of over 60 constituents into the Army, Navy, Police, Police Academy, DSS, NIA, NPA, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, NSCDC, Federal Medical Centre, Federal Fire Service, Ondo State Teaching Service Commission, Ondo State Primary Health Service, and other agencies. Two of his constituents also benefitted from five year overseas scholarships facilitated by NIMASA.

Apart from these projects, he sponsored five bills and was described as a very visible member of the National Assembly.

Ologunola stressed that Adeogun’s interest is to raise hope dashed by bad leadership and create an economic platform that will benefit all electorates and society.

He said the candidate would continue to preach the possibility of Ondo North Senatorial District’s dreams, adding that the people would see better days if they remained steadfast.

Due to his outstanding performance and leadership traits, the people of Ondo North Senatorial District, both young and old, have called on him to represent them in the Senate come 2027, a call borne not out of mere political ambition but out of his performance in the House of Representatives in the 9th Assembly.

Ologunola disclosed that if given the opportunity, Adeogun would liberate the senatorial district from the shackles of poverty and underdevelopment.

He stressed that Adeogun has been quietly receiving support from leaders and elders who believe in him, noting that his candidacy is not about ambition but about his mission for Ondo North Senatorial District.

“The people in the area are looking for a leader who embodies good character, commitment, integrity, and someone who understands policy and people,” Ologunola said.
