An education advocate, Mrs Abisayo Busari-Akinnadeju, has awarded scholarships and learning materials to selected less-privileged secondary school pupils in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State.
The intervention, carried out through her ABA Cares Initiative on January 20, 2026, covered pupils of Community Grammar School, Oroke High School and AUD Secondary School in the town.
According to organisers, the beneficiaries were nominated by school authorities based on their financial background and academic commitment, with the aim of helping them remain in school and focus on their studies.
The programme also included the distribution of exercise-book packs to the pupils to ease the cost of basic learning materials for their families.
Speaking through her representatives, Busari-Akinnadeju urged the beneficiaries to take their education seriously, describing learning as a critical tool for personal growth and future opportunities.
She said the outreach formed part of her broader commitment to grassroots education development and leadership nurturing, noting that investment in young people remained key to long-term national progress.
School administrators and community leaders commended the initiative, describing it as timely support that would reduce dropout rates among vulnerable pupils.
The Principal of Community Grammar School said the gesture would enable affected pupils to continue their education without distraction, while expressing appreciation to the ABA Cares team.
Busari-Akinnadeju is also the founder of Project One and the convener of the annual #IAMANIGERIAN Conference, platforms focused on civic engagement, leadership development and national unity.
