Multi-million Naira Project Donated To School in Akure

The Principal of Akure Commercial school area of Ondo State, Mrs Omoshileola Stella Akinbohun has expressed her heart felt joy and returned glory to God almighty for the success Of Multi-Million Naira project recorded during her tenure.

Akinbohun made the expression at the school in Akure during the delivery Of Multi-Million Naira Basketball/Volleyball Court, New Library/Sickbay to the school.

Akure Secondary School Commercial under the leadership of Mrs. Stella Akinbohun took the delivery of multi-million naira Basketball/Volleyball Court and new school Library/Sickbay.

The Basketball/Volleyball Court was donated to the school by Legacy Elite Club under the headship of Prince Mathew Adegoke, the club consists of 10 members of Old time friends that grew up in Akure some of which are members of Old Students’ Association of the school while the building of School/Sickbay was donated by the school PTA under the chairmanship of Pastor Oladunjoye Stephen.

In her remarks, the Principal of Akure School Commercial, Mrs. Omoshileola Stella Akinbohun expressed her heart felt joy and returned all the glory to God for the success recorded during her tenure.

She used the opportunity to thank the donors of the projects and Ondo State Government for the supports the school has been getting from time to time

Mrs. Akinbohun noted that over 500 students of Commercial benefited from free WAEC examination courtesy of Ondo State Government.

She therefore called on all other Old Students of the school to emulate Legacy Elite Club under the leadership of Prince Mathew Adegoke and give back to their Alma-mater.

Speaking on the rationale behind the donation of the lofty project, the President of Legacy Elite Club, Prince Mathew Adegoke said that the Club comprise of friends of like minds from different of Schools in Akure and graduated in 1984.

In his words: “When I was here as a student I contested to be Sports Perfect but I was not nominated because of my sturborness and then I determined to do something in line of that sports. This is the basis of what I am doing today giving back to the school.

“We want to bring our experiences from all parts of the world into bear to advance the course of our old school.”

Also in his comment, one of the financiers of the project and old students of 1986 set, Mr. Charles Ayodele Alabi said that his motivation to give back to Alma-mater was based on the quality of Education they received from the school during there days in the school.

“We came on holiday last year and decided to visit the school as we went back to our based in US, my President and I we are best of friends from childhood, we decided to involve other friends that attended schools like Omolorogbo, Aquinas College and Oyemekun, we are 10 in number that contributed to sponsor this project.”

Speaking at the event, Director of School Services, Dr. Ige Akindele who appreciated the donors of the project he described as one of the best basketball/Volleyball Court. He acknowledged the efforts of the Principal of the school, Mrs. Akinbohun gearing towards galvanizing support of Old Students and donors within and outside Nigeria to the school.

Akindele said since the inception of Education in history it cannot be done by one entity and that collaborative effort is required to achieve expected result. He added that: “Project is like will soon become mighty project to the benefits of all and sundry like biblical mustard seed.

He noted Government of Ondo State is do all in its capacity to advance the course of development of the schools in many ways and that ODSG will not relent championing the course of Education in Nigeria.

Prince Adebisi Adeniyi, popular known as Bisi Gold donated 16 Jessys and 20 Soccer foot wears.

The PTA Chairman, Pastor Stephen Oladunjoye While speaking with journalists said that all the parents of the school are pleased with leadership of Mrs. Akinbohun and they are readily available to support the development of the school.

Thereafter the representative of the Permanent Secretary of Ondo State Ministry of Education, Dr. Ige Akindele commissioned the two projects for the benefit of all the students of the school
