Aiyedatiwa preaches peace, unity to party members, says APC is one big family

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State is one big family and cannot be divided.

Governor Aiyedatiwa stated this at the APC Stakeholders meeting held on Saturday, at the International Culture and Events Center, The Dome.

The Governor also preached peace and unity to the party members. “We should all rally round ourselves as loyal party members, we all belong to APC, we are one family. Let us work together for the victory of our party come November, 2024.”.

He urged the stakeholders to return to their local governments, wards, units and continue to spread the message of unity.

The Governor stressed that his administration will continue to encourage party members and ensure that the stakeholders hold meetings on regular basis.

Earlier in his welcome address, the State Chairman of APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin noted that the party’s primary has come and gone, urging members of the party to be united as one big family. “What we had on April 20, was just a family affair, the real election is coming us on November 16, we must all fight for the victory of our party”.

“It is our duty to be united, we should be sincere with ourselves and let go of our ego. APC victory in November 16 election belongs to all party members, let’s continue to work for the progress of our party, let’s forgive one another, leave sentiment apart, we must not use any derogatory language for ourselves or our party, the era of politicking has gone, all we need now is the unity of our party”.

The Deputy Chairman of APC, Hon. Atili Agaba, urged the party members to stop social media war and embrace peace for the progress of the party.

The State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Mr Ademole Odudu opined that government of Governor Aiyedatiwa is government of peace, adding that the State has been experiencing different types of development. He appealed to the members of the NURTW to cooperate with the government of Governor Aiyedatiwa for the progress of the State and the party.

Also, one of the Gubernatorial candidate of APC at the April 20 primary election, Mr Morayo Lebi stated that the stakeholders meeting is a welcome development and a right step in the right direction. “Everything Is being done by our leader, Governor Aiyedatiwa to ensure that all party members are in one house, we can’t afford to be disunited at this time”.

Lebi appealed to all aggrieved members of the party to come together and support Governor Aiyedatiwa.

Former member, representing Akoko South East/South West federal constituency, Hon. Ade Adeogun said that the stakeholders meeting is an avenue to bring the party members together to build a united and strong party. “I believe that we will work hard and do everything possible to ensure that we win very well”, he added.

The NDDC Commissioner representing Ondo State in the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Otito Atikase noted that the All Progressives Congress remains a strong and unbreakable party. He added that the party will always be in one accord, stressing that victory is sure for APC at the November 16 governorship election.

In attendance were; The Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, former chief of Staff, Mr Olugbenga Ale, Members of the Ondo State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, Senator representing Ondo North, Senator Jide Ipinsagba, members of the State executive council, former minister of State for transportation, Former Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Vivor Olabimtan, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, former Ambassador of Nigeria to Togo, Amb. Sola Iji, former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Abdulazeez Oluboyo, Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, among other eminent personalities.
