Akogun Omole Congratulates Gov Aiyedatiwa on Landmark Victory, Praises Oka-Akoko’s Unity

In a show of solidarity and support, Hon. Olugbenga Omole, the Akogun of Okaland and Special Adviser on Transportation to the Ondo State Governor, has extended warm congratulations to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his decisive victory in the governorship election held on November 16, 2024.
The Akogun, in a statement released in Akure, praised the people of Oka-Akoko for their unified backing of the Governor, emphasizing the significance of their collective voice. He highlighted that the electorate in Akoko Southwest’s Ward 2 and Ward 6 stood firm in their support despite not having a distinct local leader to spearhead the votes. Instead, the youth of the region rose to the challenge, working tirelessly to secure a resounding win for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reflecting on the election outcome, Hon. Omole expressed his delight, saying, “I am not surprised by this result. For the first time, all leaders in Akoko Southwest were united in their support for the Aiyedatiwa/Adelami project. We have corrected the missteps of the 2023 Assembly election. Oka remains the bedrock of the APC in Ondo State.”
The victory, which saw Hon. Aiyedatiwa and his running mate, Dr. Olayide Adelami, clinch all 18 local government areas in the state, marks an unprecedented achievement in Ondo State’s political history. Akogun Omole credited this success to the Governor’s impressive track record and his impactful performance in recent months.
In addition to celebrating the Governor’s triumph, Hon. Omole acknowledged the role of APC leaders at all levels, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in orchestrating this historic win. He commended the collaborative efforts of state governors, national and local party leadership, and the unwavering support from the grassroots.
Moreover, Hon. Omole praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its efficient conduct of the election, noting the prompt arrival of officials at polling units. He also extended his appreciation to the security agencies for maintaining peace throughout the electoral process in Okaland, Akoko Southwest, and the entire state.
The resounding success of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s campaign, Omole believes, is a testament to the Governor’s dedication and the people’s trust in his vision for a prosperous Ondo State.
