The Alumni Association of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (AMANO) held a transformative one-day career fair at the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron. Spearheaded by AMANO executives and members under the leadership of President Emmanuel Maiguwa, the event aimed to bridge the gap between graduating cadets and the maritime industry.

Renowned industry experts, including Captain Garba Gajere, Engr. Ini-obong Ebong, Anne Dung, Oamien Ailemen, and Inoma Frances, shared inspiring stories from their professional journeys. Addressing the cadets, they highlighted the importance of resilience, professionalism, and continuous learning to excel in the dynamic maritime sector.

The event featured several practical sessions, including an “on-the-spot” interview program, providing immediate employment opportunities to some cadets. A CV clinic was also organized to equip participants with critical job-hunting skills, positioning them for success in the competitive job market.

Members of AMANO’s Akwa Ibom Chapter also actively participated, offering additional support and valuable advice to the graduating cadets.

The career fair provided a platform for cadets to engage with industry leaders, gain insights into real-world maritime operations, and prepare for the next phase of their careers.
