APC welcomes CSP Adewumi, Allies ahead of guber poll

Ahead of the November 16, 2024 Ondo State governorship election, the APC political leader in Ijare Ward 2, Engr. Tuyi Agboola, has officially welcomed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Emmanuel Adewumi (rtd), also known as Baluba, to the party. Agboola praised Adewumi’s decision to join the APC, emphasizing that it represents a significant political shift in Ijare LCDA, Ifedore Local Government Area, and the broader Ondo State political landscape.

Engr. Agboola, along with other party leaders and special assistants to Governor Aiyedatiwa, gathered to celebrate Adewumi’s decision during a political meeting in Ijare Ward 2. He noted that Adewumi’s entry into the APC would greatly impact the local political scene and potentially destabilize opposing parties in the region.

Agboola highlighted CSP Adewumi’s distinguished career in the Nigerian Police Force, noting his role in recruiting youth from Ifedore LGA into the force, many of whom are now excelling in their careers. He also acknowledged Adewumi’s contributions to job creation through his business ventures and his continued commitment to his community and humanity.

In a show of support, Hon. Oyinkansola Aroloye, one of the special assistants to the governor, celebrated Adewumi’s decision to join the APC, calling it a timely move that has sparked excitement and jubilation among local communities. Aroloye emphasized that Adewumi’s commitment to recruiting locals into the police force has had a positive impact on the community and that his joining the APC would strengthen the party’s efforts.

The LCDA chairman, Hon. Jon Favour, described Adewumi’s decision as a wake-up call to the people, reminding them of the importance of supporting Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa beyond 2025. Favour also emphasized the need for unity within the APC to ensure continued progress in the state.

Hon. Engr. Alex Oladimeji, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Public Works, proudly introduced Adewumi to party leaders and members at the Ijare Ward 2 APC Secretariat. Oladimeji, the former chairman of Ifedore LGA, expressed confidence that Adewumi’s involvement would help propel the APC toward greater success. He acknowledged Adewumi as a credible and reliable son of the Ijare community, whose addition to the party would make a significant impact.

CSP Adewumi, visibly pleased, shared his admiration for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s achievements, which inspired his decision to join politics under the APC banner. He promised to continue serving his community and contributing to society, bringing his extensive experience as a retired senior officer in the Nigerian Police Force.

Adewumi also urged the people of Ondo State to vote overwhelmingly for Governor Aiyedatiwa and his deputy in the upcoming election, emphasizing the importance of supporting the current leadership for continued progress.

The meeting was attended by several key party leaders and stakeholders, including Engr. Tuyi Agboola, Hon. Idowu Adebusuyi, Hon. Alex Oladimeji, Hon. Dipo Ajibola, Hon. Damilola Oluyemi, Hon.
