Two communities in Ondo State, Osi in Akure and Oba in Akoko, have been thrown into confusion over the alleged disappearance of the remains of one Mrs. Olajumoke Julianah Ogunsuyi from UNIMED Teaching Hospital’s morgue.

The incident which had led to uproar in both communities happened after Mrs. Ogunsuyi’s family arrived the hospital this morning to retrieve her remains for burial.

It was learnt that the family was surprised that the corpse was no where to be found in the morgue.

Although sources close to the family revealed that both the mortuary attendants and hospital officials are currently under investigation by the police.

But a source in the hospital who craved anonymity, said Mrs. Ogunsuyi’s body had been mistakenly swapped with another deceased individual’s body from a different family in Oba Akoko.

The planned funeral arrangements included Mrs. Ogunsuyi’s lying-in-state, a Christian wake, and other ceremonies scheduled for today, Friday, August 4, as well as tomorrow, Saturday, at her residence in Osi, within the Akure North council area.

Meanwhile, efforts made reach out to the police for comments proved abortive.
