The immediate past Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. David Bamidele Oleyelogun, has congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his deputy on their victory in Saturday’s governorship election.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the November 16, 2024, election, was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the collation of results on Sunday.

In a statement, Rt. Hon. Oleyelogun described the victory as a collective triumph for the people of Ondo State, emphasizing that the governor’s re-election reflects the trust and overwhelming support of the citizens.

“This victory is not just for Governor Aiyedatiwa but for all the people of Ondo State. It underscores the confidence reposed in his leadership to continue steering the state toward progress,” Oleyelogun stated.

Expressing gratitude, the former Speaker pledged unwavering support for the administration’s vision to run an inclusive and participatory government. He assured the people that the governor would prioritize their welfare, foster economic growth, and ensure Ondo State remains a symbol of hope and prosperity.

Oleyelogun hailed the governor’s victory as an endorsement of good governance under the APC and commended the people of Ondo State for their peaceful conduct during the election. He also appreciated INEC for significant improvements in the electoral process, particularly the prompt release of results and efficient collation.

“The victory comes with fresh responsibilities for Governor Aiyedatiwa. It is a clear message from the people that they value his leadership and expect more in terms of development and economic progress,” Oleyelogun added.

He further acknowledged the efforts of APC leaders, including the National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje; the Progressive Governors’ Forum; the National Campaign Council; and all party members, whose dedication contributed to the electoral success.

Oleyelogun concluded by reaffirming confidence in the governor’s ability to deliver on his promises, ensuring sustainable development and prosperity for all Ondo residents.
