Ezisi commends Comptrollers Nnadi, Olomu, describes officers as worthy awardees

The Customs Area Controller of the Tincan Island Port Command, Comptroller Dera Anselm Nnadi, and his Apapa Command counterpart, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, have continued to receive widespread accolades following their recent recognition at the CGC’s Award Night in Abuja.

At the event, held on Friday, November 29, the officers shone brightly under the spotlight, with Comptroller Nnadi receiving one award and Comptroller Olomu clinching three in various categories. The recognitions have drawn praise from stakeholders across the industry, including the President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Chief Tochukwu Ezisi.

Chief Ezisi lauded the officers for their exceptional dedication and professionalism. Speaking about Comptroller Nnadi, he said, “Comptroller Dera Nnadi is charismatic, tenacious, and focused. His deep understanding of Customs operations and administration, coupled with his outstanding human relations skills, has been instrumental to his success across various postings. He is an exemplary officer and an admirable human being.”

On Comptroller Olomu, Ezisi noted, “Comptroller Babatunde Olomu is an intelligent and hardworking officer with a clear vision for setting new benchmarks. His approachable demeanor makes him well-liked, but it is his professionalism and results-driven approach that distinguish him as a top achiever. I am confident that these awards will further motivate both officers to excel even more in their roles.”

Comptrollers Nnadi and Olomu currently head the two largest revenue-generating commands within the Nigeria Customs Service. Recently, Comptroller Nnadi announced that his command had generated over ₦1.12 trillion in revenue between January and November. Similarly, Comptroller Olomu revealed that the Apapa Command had generated over ₦2 trillion during the same period. Together, the two commands account for approximately 60% of the Service’s annual revenue.

Chief Ezisi extended his best wishes to both officers, expressing confidence in their ability to achieve even greater milestones in their careers.
