Focus all efforts on Saturday’s election – Gov Aiyedatiwa tells party members

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has urged party members and stakeholders to focus all efforts on Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

He made this emphasis on Thursday during an interactive session organised by the Special Engagement Committee, Ondo State Gubernatorial Campaign Council, held at the Dome.

The Governor, while stressing the importance of winning the election appreciated their presence and support for him. ” I’m grateful for your show of love for me, I will never take it for granted.

“You have shown your readiness to vote for APC on Saturday, I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed. My administration is aware of the yearnings and aspirations of the people and we’ll do everything within our reach to double our efforts and make life more comfortable for the people of the State. I urged you all to stay true to your resolve and resolution”.

The Special Engagement Committee Chairman and Katsina State Governor, Dikko Urmar, represented by his Deputy, Faruq Lawal noted that the committee is appointed by the National Secretariat of APC and are looking forward to a peaceful, free and fair election.

While emphasizing President Tinubu’s commitment to the development of Nigeria, he urged the people to continue to pray for Nigeria leaders and support the current administration.

He encouraged the people to come out and exercise their franchise, avoid vote selling and should not be used in disturbing the election.

The immediate past Deputy Governor of Edo State and the vice Chairman of the Committee, Comrade Philip Shaibu noted that the only way the electorates can sustain development is to vote for APC. He charged them not to put their hands on any negativity and should not be afraid of coming out to vote.

The committee Secretary, Dr Femi Adekanbi, the committee is important for the election, as the committee has put themselves in senatorial zones to work and are working tirelessly to ensure a successful election.

According to him, the purpose of the gathering is not to campaign but to interact with the people and know where there are lapses.

He urged the party members to avoid any form of violence any anything that can tarnish their image, be at peace with everyone, follow every election process.

The State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Comrade Ademola Odudu, urged the people to go back to their wards, units, constituency and work for Governor Aiyedatiwa and avoid an invalid vote during the election.

The Iyaloja general of APC, Ondo State, Mrs Olufunke Adu, market women would continue to support Governor Aiyedatiwa. She appealed to the Governor to help market women soft loans to boost their businesses and put them on a pay roll in the local government and make life more comfortable for them.

Iwajomo Desmond representing the Ex Niger Delta agitators appealed to the Governor to use his office after being sworn in to improve with his engagement with the relevant commissiones to facilitate empower and scholarship for the citizens of Ondo State and influence other things for the people.

Mr Olaleye Oladimeji, representing “the boys” appreciated the Governor for appointment of youths in his administration. He assured the Governor of their unalloyed support for his administration.

The State Chairman, Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria ( RTEAN), Hon. Adewale Bolarinwa said that “we have nothing to do than to vote for Governor Aiyedatiwa on Saturday, he has done well for us and we will repay him with our votes”.

Board Chairman, Agency for People with disabilities, Mrs Folashade Arise who spoke on behalf of people with disabilities noted that they would come out en masse to vote for Governor Aiyedatiwa, irrespective of their disabilities. She discribed Governor Aiyedatiwa as an inclusive Governor.

Prophet Agedo Oluwaseyi who spoke on behalf of religious leaders noted that the spiritual leaders are solidly behind him and would continue to pray for him. He wished the Governor victory at the election.

Mutiu Aibinuomo, on behalf of Odua’s People’s Congress urged the people to do house to house campaign for Governor Aiyedatiwa and should not allow anyone to change their minds. He appealed the to the Governor to empower them for more security effectiveness.

Non indigenes in Ondo State also gave their words to troop out on Saturday to vote wholeheartedly for Governor Aiyedatiwa, stressing that they’ve all made their choice and no one can buy their votes. The expressed their satisfaction for the peace they have been enjoying since they arrive in the State, adding that the Governor has shown his capabilities in all sectors, therefore, they support the Governor for continuity.

Speaking on behalf of hunters, Commander Tade Diran, would continue to do their best to ensure security of lives and property of the people and also appealed for a quick acent.

All other participants’ representatives appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa, declared their support and presented their requests one after the other to Governor Aiyedatiwa and they received assurance of timely response.

In attendance were; The Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, APC Southwest Chairman, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke, State Chairman of APC, Engr Ade Adetimehin, Hon Adegboyega Adefarati, members representing Akoko federal constituency, Akogun Omololu, representing Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, among other eminent personalities.
