Football Is Enough To Take Jobless Youths Off Street – ODHA

Ondo State House of Assembly has said that football is enough to take jobless youths off the street and stop them from engaging in cyber crimes.
Hon. Olajide Johnson Oguntodu, chairman, house committee on youths and sports, Ondo State House of Assembly made this known during a familiarization visit to Ondo State Football Agency.
“Ondo State should look for a way of promoting football and making it a business, as it is being done in other States and countries, it will boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the State and should also be included in the curriculum of schools”.
Oguntodu, however, assured the agency that the 10th Assembly would support and collaborate with them for development of the agency.
Earlier in his address, the Administrative Secretary of Ondo State Football Agency, Mr Bekewei Ijeh noted the agency is primarily concerned with the game of football.
According to him, the agency has the mandate to promote the development football, discover talents, promote the development of career of football among the youths, engage them, so that they won’t be wayward in the society.
He posited that the agency is confident that the players would make the state proud at the upcoming 2023/2024 football season.
He appealed to the house to assist the agency in terms of subvention and transportation.
The committee were later taken round the facility of the agency.
