Maritime Expert Samuel Nwosu Tapped as Consultant by House of Representatives Committee

In a move to enhance maritime safety and regulations, the House of Representatives Committee on Safety Standards and Regulations has appointed seasoned maritime expert Samuel Nwosu as Consultant on Maritime/Ports. The appointment, made recently in Abuja, leverages Nwosu’s extensive experience and expertise in the maritime industry.

Nwosu’s impressive background includes consultancy services to top maritime agencies such as NIMASA, NSC, and CRFFN. He has also contributed to the World Customs Organisation’s Time Release Study of Nigerian ports, with a pilot study currently underway at Tincan Island Port, Lagos.

As a faculty member of various maritime institutions, Nwosu has trained numerous freight forwarders, seafarers, and dockworkers. His academic credentials include a former lecturer position at Lagos State Polytechnic and Programme Officer at University of Lagos Business School. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctoral program focused on marine and blue economy.

Nwosu’s publications have been featured both locally and internationally, solidifying his reputation as a thought leader in the maritime sector. His professional affiliations include Fellow of the Certified Institute of Shipping of Nigeria, Member of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria, and more.

With Nwosu’s appointment, the Committee aims to tap into his vast expertise to enhance maritime safety standards and regulations in Nigeria.
