Maritime Titans to Attend MARAN Annual Maritime Lecture 2024

In just under three weeks, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, Dr. Segun Awolowo, Secretary of AfCFTA Nigeria, and other distinguished guests are set to attend the Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) Annual Maritime Lecture (MAMAL) 2024.

Scheduled for November 21, 2024, at the esteemed Providence Hotel in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, this year’s event will explore the theme, “AfCFTA: Dismantling Trade Barriers, Navigating Regional Trade”. This theme focuses on critical issues within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), aiming to uncover solutions for overcoming trade barriers and harnessing regional integration for economic growth.

MAMAL 2024 will host high-level discussions among industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from the maritime and trade sectors, fostering dialogue on the region’s challenges and opportunities.

MARAN President, Godfrey Bivbere, emphasized, “This event will provide stakeholders with key insights to break down trade barriers and capitalize on regional integration benefits.” He added that MARAN, committed to advancing the maritime industry, views the MAMAL lecture series as pivotal in shaping policy and trade discussions.

Expected to attract professionals from maritime, trade, and logistics sectors, MAMAL 2024 will offer a unique networking and collaborative environment. Participants will gain insights on navigating regional trade complexities, strategizing around challenges, and identifying investment and collaboration opportunities that support Nigeria’s competitive standing in the regional market through AfCFTA.
