NAGAFF President Congratulates New CRFFN Registrar, Kingsley Igwe, Condemns Treatment of Customs Officer
The National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, has praised the federal government’s recent appointment of former NAGAFF National Secretary, Kingsley Igwe, as the new Registrar for the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarders in Nigeria (CRFFN). Ezisi commended the government for making a choice he called a “round peg in a round hole” for the maritime industry.
Speaking in Apapa after learning of Igwe’s appointment, Ezisi expressed his joy and optimism for CRFFN’s future. “It is with great joy that I congratulate you on this well-deserved appointment. I believe that the freight forwarding community will benefit immensely from your knowledge and experience,” he said, emphasizing that NAGAFF fully supports Igwe’s leadership. “As you take on this role, rest assured that NAGAFF keeps you in its thoughts and prayers. I wish you a successful tenure and pray for divine guidance as you lead CRFFN toward a purposeful future.”
Similarly, Princess Chi Ezeh, the Matron of the NAGAFF Women’s Wing, shared her confidence in Igwe’s appointment, describing it as a “new dawn” for CRFFN. She expressed hope that his leadership would bring positive changes for freight forwarders.
Additionally, Princess Chi condemned a recent incident involving a viral video showing the public humiliation of Assistant Comptroller Isa A.M., a female Customs officer, by freight agents at the Tin Can Island Port. She urged freight agents to be mindful of their conduct within port premises, highlighting the importance of mutual respect and professionalism in maintaining a productive port environment.
