ODHA Will Assist Agric Ministry To Fufill Its Mandate – Ogunlowo

Ondo State House of Assembly has promised to adequately assist the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to fulfill its mandate of making life more meaningful for the people .

The Chairman, House Committee on Natural Resources, Princess Oluwatosin Ogunlowo gave the assurance when she led other members of the Committee on a familiarisation visit to the Ministry in Akure.

The 10th assembly which was inaugurated about three months ago, has since kick-started its legislative business with engagement with constituents while in lawmaking, the House has passed one bill with others at Committees stage after scaling second reading and now it is oversight, which is one of the tripartite functions of the legislature.

Ogunlowo said the visit was to familiarise themselves with the Commissioner and members of the ministry.

She appealed that the ministry should carry the Committee along so that they can achieve the set goal together, while assuring of the Assembly’s readiness to work for the benefit of people in the State.

The Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr Olayato Aribo while thanking the legislators for the visit, expressed optimism that the meeting will establish a robust relationship between the Ministry and the Committee which will in turn bring about all round development in the State

While intimating the team with activities of the Ministry, Mr. Aribo, believed that their visit will help surmount its challenges.

Mr. Aribo expressed confidence that with the Calibre of Members of the 10th Assembly, this year’s budget will be given speedy passage just like what they enjoyed during the 9th Assembly.
