People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilaje Constituencies 1 and 2 on Wednesday, collapsed their party structure to support Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy.

The former members of the PDP were warmly received by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in Office.

The Governor expressed his gratitude for their decision to join the APC and support his campaign, describing it as a strong indication of the Ilaje people’s solidarity with him.

Aiyedatiwa assured the new members that they would retain their leadership roles within the APC, reflecting their positions in the former party.

Promising inclusive participation, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the new members would not be marginalized but would enjoy the benefits and opportunities within the party.

In his address, Hon. Lebi Adepiti, who led the former PDP members to the Governor’s office, stated their commitment to supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa.

“We are committed to supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa out of our own free will. We recognize his strong performance since he became governor. Our decision was made several months ago because we believe in standing by our brother rather than seeking alternatives.” Adepiti said.

He emphasized their unity and dedication, stating, “We believe it is our duty as brothers to unite with him and advance the State. The PDP no longer exists in Ilaje local government. Our ward executives, members, women leaders, councillors, and supervisors are all committed to supporting Aiyedatiwa.”

Adepiti assured their commitment to ensuring Governor Aiyedatiwa’s success in the upcoming election. “We are ready for APC, we are ready to work for you,” he added.

Prince Adebowale Ajimuda, former State Chairman of OSOPADEC, praised Governor Aiyedatiwa as a determined leader and requested an enabling environment to mobilize more support.

State Chairman of the APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, welcomed the new members, promising an official decamping ceremony soon. He stressed that the APC does not discriminate and congratulated them on joining the party. He added that they would be given a level playing field and expressed confidence that more PDP members would join, ensuring a united effort to secure victory on November 16.

The meeting concluded with the new members assuring Governor Aiyedatiwa of a landslide victory in the upcoming election.

In attendance were the Secretary to the State Government, Tayo Oluwatuyi, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, and other top government functionaries.
