Over eleven thousand Local Government workers in Ondo State have endorsed Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as their candidate ahead of the forth coming gubernatorial election in the State.

Governor Aiyedatiwa was endorsed at the 2024 NULGE day celebration of the Union held at the international culture and events center, The Dome, Akure.

In his address, the State President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Comrade Frederick Akinrinlola noted that the Governor is worker’s friendly and listens to the yearning and aspirations of the workers.

He appreciated the Governor for approving 73,000 naira minimum wage for workers, timely payment of salary and palliatives, regular promotion of workers, appointment of Prince Segun Omojuwa as chief of Staff and Comrade Bola Taiwo as the Special Adviser on union matters, among others.

While requesting for full implementation of grade level 17 for local government workers, among others, he assured the Governor that NULGE shall continue to support his administration.

“NULGE is well positioned to deliver 50,000 votes for Governor Aiyedatiwa at the November 16 gubernatorial election, we are very sure of this”, he concluded.

In his goodwill message, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Union matters, Comrade Bola Taiwo urged the workers to come out en masse to cast their vote for Governor Aiyedatiwa, he also encouraged them to keep canvassing support for him.

On his part, the National President of NULGE Comrade Akeem Olatunji Ambali while endorsing Governor Aiyedatiwa said he was elated with the good reports of Governor Aiyedatiwa. He expressed his confidence in the Governor’s victorious emergence.

Also, the State Chairman of Trade Union Congress (TUC) Comrade Clement Fatuase described the Governor as a trustworthy and reliable person who will not betray the people of the state or take their support for granted.

In his reaction, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa appreciated the numerous workers for his endorsement, pledging not to disappoint them.

He promised the workers that the era of percentage salary is over in Ondo State, stressing that his administration would continue to prioritize the welfare of the workers across the State.

While assuring the workers also gave his assurance that his administration would double its performance and service delivery to the the people.

The jubilant NULGE members drawn from all the nook and cranny of Ondo state displayed their voter card in readiness to vote for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the upcoming Governorship election.
