Ondo 2024: Olukare, Owa-Ale assure Gov Aiyedatiwa of traditional support

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on Saturday, took his campaign tour to Akoko North East local government area of Ondo State, where he received royal blessings from Olukare of Ikare and Owa-Ale of Ikare.
The campaign train of the Governor visited Iboropa, Akunnu and Ikare Akoko in Akoko North East Local Government Area of the State.
At the palace of Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh, the Oniboropa of Iboropa Akoko, Oba Babatunde Olaleye who spoke on behalf of other traditional rulers lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa’s developmental strides across the state, expressing confidence in APC’s victory.
The monarch outlined pressing issues for the area, including security, road network expansion and access to clean water.
Reacting, Governor Aiyedatiwa pledged to alleviate poverty and hardship across the State through impactful policies and programs formulated in the 2025 budget.
The Governor, while acknowledging their key concerns, including security, access to clean water and improved road networks, assured them that these issues would receive priority attention.
The Owa-Ale of Ikare, Oba Adefemi Adeleke Adedoyin who received the Governor warmly, affirmed Ikare Akoko’s support for APC, citing the Governor’s contributions to the State’s progress.
In his response, Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciated the traditional rulers for their support and assured them of his commitment to addressing these challenges.
The Governor said: “I am truly humbled by the incredible show of support from the people of Ikare. Your commitment to our vision for a better Ondo State fills me with immense pride. Ikare has always been a beacon of progress, and your loyalty reassures us that our efforts are being recognised and valued.”
The Governor outlined some of his administration’s accomplishments, such as improvements in infrastructure, agriculture, and education.
“We have achieved so much together, from upgrading our roads to enhancing agriculture and investing in our schools, but our work is far from over. With your continued support on November 16, we can deliver even more transformation and development”, the Governor said.

Addressing his large number of supporters in Iboropa, Akunnu and Ikare Akoko, the Governor urged residents to vote for continuity to sustain development across the State.
During the tour, Hon. Stephen Olemija, a former House of Representatives member for Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency, Lekan Bada, former Chairman of Akoko North East and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in the last House of Reps by-election in the constituency and another notable PDP leader, Momoh Mufu, also known as Apongan, defected to the APC and were received into the party by the Governor.
The APC campaign tour is set to continue in Akure North Local Government Area on Monday.
