Dr Abiola Makinde, representing Ondo West/Ondo East Federal Constituency, has lauded the effectiveness of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System ( BVAS) used in the ongoing voting exercise.

Makinde stated this after casting his vote by 11:50am at the Ward 7, Polling Unit 9, Iluyemi Street in Ondo, Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State,

“ Our observations indicate that the whole exercise has been peaceful and the enthusiasm is greatly seen on peoples’ faces and the turn out is great.

“ The BVAS is working and we give credit to INEC to ensure that BVAS goes to across entire units. You can imagine how many units we have in the whole Nigeria. It is a tremendous effort,” he said.

According to him, Nigeria is getting better with its democracy.

He added that the no record of violence had been heard since the voting began.

Makinde, a House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in the federal constituency, said that the peaceful conduct of the exercise endeared more eligible voters to come out and cast their votes.
