Ondo State is opened to investors – Gov. Aiyedatiwa

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has said that the arm of the state is opened to embrace Investors.

The Governor stated this on Monday while receiving the Consulate General of the people’s Republic of China in Lagos, in his office.

Governor Aiyedatiwa stressed that Ondo State, being an agrarian state, is the leader in production of cocoa and other several cash crops, which the Chinese can also take up.

The Governor reiterated his strong commitment to enhancing the existing bilateral relationship with the People’s Republic of China to further boost the state’s economy.

According to him, Ondo State is rich in natural and human resources. He advocated for an increased exchange of business ideas, particularly in technology, education, and agriculture, to help Nigeria overcome its current challenges.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also reaffirmed the continuity of the bilateral agreement signed by the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu between Liyen Industry, located in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area, and the Ondo State Government. He emphasized that this agreement will generate employment and establish the area as a key hub for industrial materials.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, however, assured the team of the State’s continuous and harmonious relationship.

Deputy Mayor Sun Deshi of Linyi Municipal People’s Government expressed China’s interest in collaborating with the Ondo State Government to expand the already established companies, emphasizing China’s expertise in technology, agriculture, and construction.

Ms. Yan Yuqing, the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos, praised the Ondo State Government for the establishment of the Liyen Industrial Hub and its hospitality. She promised to expedite more business opportunities in the state.

The Governor was accompanied by His Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, Secretary to the State government, Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, commissioner for information, Mr. Wale Akinlosotu, prof. Larry Awosika.
