The Ancient town of Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State was agog over the weekend as OTUNBA OMONIYI OMODARA, JP rolled out the drums to celebrate his 70th birthday in a grand style.
The epoch event began with Church service at Christ Service Cherubim and Seraphim, Itedo Olodumare Bible Church, Oba-Ile.
In his homily, Bishop Wale Ayegbusi of the Flame of Fire World Outreach called on the celebrant to see all stages of his development from childhood to adulthood and statesmanship as grace from God.
The Clergy therefore admonished Otunba Omodara to continue to allow God to use him to raise more selfless leaders.
It was a day of long speeches at the colourful reception also held at Oba-Ile where the Chairman at the occasion, Prof. Olu Aderounmu described the celebrant as a humble and selfless politician who contributed to the development of Oba-Ile, Akure North LG in no small measure as the pioneer Commissioner of transport in Ondo state.
Former Member, House of Representatives and Secretary to Ondo state government, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde while tracing his political journey to Otunba Omodara said he would continue to attribute his political success to him.
While his biological children see him as great motivator, a loving, kind, cheerful and caring father, family members, political associates and neighbours described him as a compassionate, unassuming and God fearing man.
The epoch event brought together creme de la creme of the society including the former Governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the Ogbolu of Itaogbolu, Oba Faborode, the Oloba of Oba-Ile, Oba Oluwadare Agunbiade, former state Chairman of PDP, Ebenezer Alabi among others.
