‘Our Governor Is Gone’ —Adelami Mourns Late Akeredolu

The former Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, Dr Owolabi Olaide Adelami, mni hereby commiserate with the family of Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, the government of Ondo State, the good people of Owo kingdom and the entire Ondo state over the passage of H.E. Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, the Governor of Ondo state who answered the ultimate call on wednesday 27th of December 2023 at the age of 67 after a prolonged illness.

The Owo born retired public servant described the passing away of Akeredolu as a big blow to the people of Ondo State especially to Owo kingdom as the ancient town lost one of her illustrious son.

Adelami elougises Akeredolu on his fairless and unique leadership style, describe him as a notable son of Owo, who will be remembered for his diligent support for the security of lives and prosperities of the good people of Ondo State through the establishment of a security outfit otherwise known as Àmòtékùn in the south western part of the country in ensuring we have a secured region.

Adelami, who was an aspirant for 2020 Gubernatorial election under the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State described the late former NBA President as someone whose imprint in the development of Ondo State can’t be forgotten in a hurry. He will be remembered for his unique style of leadership which earned him the name ‘ Mr talk and do’.he said.

As the people of Ondo state mourn however, Dr Adelami believes that we should all take solace in the knowledge that Arakunrin Akeredolu has left behind a legacy of notable achievements in his public service career at the state and national levels which will stand to his eternal credit and honour.

“Aketi will be greatly remember for his good work in his legal profession, and in Ondo State as a fairless Governor and as a true democrat.

It’s my prayer that God Almighty in his infinity mercy will console the first family, the Olowo of Owo kingdom, HRM Oba Ajibade Gbadegbesin Ogunoye III, other Royal fathers in Owo , the people of Owo kingdom and Ondo State at large. “May his soul rest in peace”, he added

Adelami , while congratulating the new governor, H.E. Hon. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa , he admonishes him to continue the good legacy of his predecessor in execution of existing projects in the State . I have no doubt that he will do everything possible to foster unity and peace as well improve on the welfare of the good people of ondo state.
