Suspected hoodlums on Wednesday invaded the premises of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), beating a Commissioner of the commission, Kehinde Akinrotoye, popularly known as ‘BonsueAketi’.

The hoodlums who stormed the premises of OSOPADEC in their numbers, disrupted the bursary and scholarship award ceremony of the intervention agency.

A source who craved anonymity disclosed that the “said the hoodlums came in hired vehicles and started to shoot into the premises, thereby preventing the event from holding at a scheduled time.”

“The vehicle that brought him (the Commissioner) into the venue was destroyed and vandalized, who also destroyed another vehicle in the premises of the intervention agency”

It was learnt that security officers attached to the OSOPADEC office had hectic time curtailing the activities of the suspected hoodlums and had to close the gate leading to the office to prevent those who wanted to entry to and fro from the office.

It took the intervention of men of the Ondo State Police Command to bring the situations calm and under the control.

As at the time of filling this report, the security men were strategically positioned to prevent the breakdown of law and order, while the Commissioner has been hospitalised.

Another source told Allnews that the Commissioner was attacked, not because he is from Ondo West Local Govt area, but for allegedly bringing in thugs to the commission to distrupt the ceremony.
