The Gbobaniyi of Isikan land, Chief Prince Ijiti Samuel Aanu, has called on Nigerian youths to seek alternative, non-violent means of pressing their demands. He emphasized the need to avoid actions that could disrupt peace and lead to looting.
Chief Ijiti made this appeal while speaking with journalists in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.
While expressing sympathy for the economic hardships faced by Nigerians, Chief Ijiti highlighted that protests without constructive aims may not be the solution. He advised the public to discourage their children and wards from participating in activities that could jeopardize societal stability.
As the CEO of Ever-Shine Films Travel Nig. Ltd, Chief Ijiti acknowledged the current administration’s efforts to implement policies aimed at alleviating economic burdens. He stressed the importance of recognizing the global economic challenges that impact everyone.
“It is crucial to remember that the current global economic situation affects us all,” Chief Ijiti said.
Chief Ijiti noted that historically, destructive protests have failed to resolve issues. He called for steadfast support for those working to improve the nation, urging patience and understanding as change often requires time and perseverance.
He also advised the government at all levels to prioritize agriculture through mechanized farming, reduce petrol prices, improve electricity supply, and develop good road networks. He suggested replacing outdated farming tools with modern Chinese equipment and emphasized the importance of power generation for prosperity.
“Federal Government should also pay serious attention to power generation as electricity is the key to prosperity,” Chief Ijiti stated.
The Gbobaniyi urged Nigerians to prioritize safety, remain vigilant, and engage in constructive dialogue. He called for collaborative efforts to address challenges rather than resorting to protests that may lead to further division.
