…………as Governor engages Ondo township leaders

It was carnival like in the ancient town of Ondo kingdom on Friday as Governor Aiyedatiwa, in continuation of his campaign tour, visited Ondo West local government area of the State.

Thousand supporters of Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed him triumphantly to the town amidst jubilation, declaring their unalloyed support for the Governor.

According to his loyal supporters “We’ve all seen the good works of Governor Aiyedatiwa in just 10 months in office and we want him to continue with it, he is the right man for the job, we know he won’t disappoint us”.

At a community stakeholders engagement with the governor at the palace of the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, the monarch commended the developmental strides of the governor.

The monarch said, “We deeply appreciate your honour in appointing me as Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) and for the various development projects across Ondo State.”

Oba Kiladejo commended the governor for approving the Ita Nla to Awoyaya road project, urging that construction commence promptly. Reflecting on the recent flooding in the area, he added, “Your support during the unfortunate flood was invaluable to our people.”

Addressing the need for infrastructure, the monarch appealed for intervention in township and rural roads, saying, “We hope you will assist with rehabilitating our rural roads, enabling our farmers to bring their produce into town.”

In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his appreciation for the support of the community, noting, “I am truly grateful to see the council area speaking with one voice in support of continuity. The love and commitment shown by the people of Ondo today is overwhelming. I urge you to transform this support into votes on Election Day.”

The governor reassured the monarch that the requests made would be addressed, disclosing that many of the projects are already underway.

During the event, the traditional council offered prayers and blessings for the governor’s success in the election.

Earlier in the day, Governor Aiyedatiwa officially commissioned the revitalised Ife Garage Motor Park in Ondo, one of the projects facilitated by Hon. Peter Abiola Makinde, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency.

The Governor commended the developmental initiatives of the lawmaker in the constituency in the last five years.

At Bagbe, the headquarters of Ondo West LCDA, the Oloja of Bagbe, Chief Valentine Omotere, expressed gratitude to the government for providing fertilizers to farmers in the area.

He appealed for more primary health centres, additional healthcare staff, and an increase in teachers for schools across the council area.

In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted his administration’s efforts, noting the ongoing recruitment of health professionals to serve across the state’s 203 wards.

At Litaye and Laje, while addressing party faithful, Governor Aiyedatiwa assured the crowd that their communities’ needs are well recognised and will be prioritised by his administration.

The governor emphasised that these needs would be addressed in due course, explaining that his administration is committed to delivering essential projects and improvements that reflect the community’s aspirations.

“Every concern you’ve raised is important to us, and each has been carefully noted. Our mission is to ensure that every community feels the impact of this government, and I’m here to personally ensure that we understand and act on your needs,” the governor said.

Meanwhile, young leaders of the APC in Ondo West local government area have declared that they are intensifying efforts for the local government to deliver the highest number of votes in the State for the party in the coming election.

They include Mr. Tola Awosika, Engr. Tunde Bally, Chairman of the State Information Technology Agency, Hon. Tomide Akinribido and members of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Biola Oladapo and Hon. Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju.

Addressing crowds of residents at each campaign point, the young leaders urged the people of Ondo Kingdom to maintain their unity in casting their votes en-masse for Governor Aiyedatiwa and the APC.
