Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has hailed Former Governor Olusegun Mimiko as an exceptional leader whose contributions to the development of the State, especially in the health sector, remains indelible.

Speaking at the former Governor’s Special Divine Agenda praise night, held to celebrate his 70th birthday on Monday, Governor Aiyedatiwa described him as a living inspiration and a remarkable individual whose leadership and legacy continue to make a difference.

He praised the former governor for being a trailblazer who not only started well but ended his tenure on a high note, emphasizing that such a legacy is worthy of recognition and admiration.

“Dr. Mimiko is a leader who transformed Ondo State through impactful projects and policies that touched the lives of our people in profound ways. His dedication to human-centered governance earned him the love and respect of the citizens.

“This celebration is a testament to the legacy he has built and the affection people have for him. It is indeed a rare blessing to witness such honour while still alive,” Governor Aiyedatiwa stated.

Governor Aiyedatiwa prayed for long life and good health for the celebrant.

Earlier in his opening remarks, Chief Yele Ogundipe appreciated God’s faithfulness in the celebrant’s life, stressing that 70 years on earth is not a small journey.

He urged the celebrant to continue to be closer to God and live his life in a way that pleases his maker.

In his testimony, the celebrant, Dr Olusegun Mimiko expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Ondo State and the organizers of the event for the overwhelming outpouring of love and appreciation.

Reflecting on his journey in public service, Dr. Mimiko said, “It is deeply humbling to be celebrated in this way. I am grateful to God, my family, and the good people of Ondo State for believing in my vision and supporting me throughout my tenure. This recognition motivates me to continue contributing to the development of our state in any way I can.”

Dr. Mimiko also acknowledged the role of his family in his achievements, singling out his wife, Oluwakemi, for her unwavering support.

Speaking at the event, the wife of the celebrant, Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko described her husband as a visionary leader whose works have left a lasting imprint on the lives of the people.

The celebration featured bible reading, music ministration and prayers for the celebrant, his family, Ondo State and Nigeria.

The event held at the international culture and events center, the Dome had in attendance; The Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, traditional rulers, members of the State Executive Council.
