2026: Ondo Speaker Oladiji calls for progress, unity

As the year 2026 begins, the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Olamide Oladiji, has called on the people of the state to continue praying for unity and sustained progress in order to further enjoy the dividends of democracy under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

Oladiji made the call in a New Year message issued on Wednesday in Akure and personally signed by him.

While rejoicing with residents for witnessing another year, the Speaker expressed optimism that 2026 would usher Ondo State into greater heights. He prayed for increased developmental strides and improved well-being for the people in the new year.

“I extend my warmest greetings as we step into a new year filled with renewed hope, fresh opportunities and greater possibilities. Let us continue to support government initiatives aimed at strengthening security, expanding infrastructure, and improving education and healthcare,” the statement read.

He assured that members of the Ondo State House of Assembly would remain steadfast in supporting programmes and policies of the current administration, expressing confidence that God Almighty would make 2026 a productive and prosperous year for Ondo State and Nigeria at large.

The Speaker also commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his unwavering commitment and passion for development across all sectors, urging residents to embrace the new year with courage and a renewed sense of purpose.

Oladiji concluded by praying that the new year would bring progress, abundant blessings and joy to all.
