Glamour as Ejioba high school holds 2025 annual inter house sports competition

………As Hon. Falaye unveils various supports for sporting activities

It was a fierce competition at Ejioba high school, Oba Ile in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Thursday, as the school held its 2025 annual inter house sports competition.

In his opening address, the Principal, Ejioba High school, Mr Godson Funsho Lokoyi noted that the annual inter house competition a vibrant tradition that brings together the spirit of competition, collaboration and creatively.

He added that the event is not merely about winning, it’s about showcasing the talents and hard work of each house, building familiarity and sociability, and gaining invaluable experience that extend far beyond these walls.
He stressed that each house represents a unique blend of talent, dedication and teamwork. “As we come together to cheer for our friends, let us remember the countless hours of practice and preparation that have led to this moment. Whether it be in sports, music, drama, or academics, every participant has poured their hearts into their performance, and their effort deserve our utmost respect and admiration.
“As we embark on this exciting day filled with competitions, let us celebrate not just the victories, truth also the lessons learned thorough perseverance and collaboration. Lets cheer for creativity, for the spirit of innovation, and for friendships that are forged through challenges”.

He encouraged everyone to embody the true spirit of sportsmanship-supporting one another, celebrating such achievement, urging all participants to give their best regardless of the outcome and remember that every attempt is a step towards personal growth and learning.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the ceremony, Hon. Ayodele Falaye commended the students for their dedication, perseverance, and passion for sports.
“Your hard work and commitment to your respective houses will surely make this competition an exciting and memorable one.

Falaye who was represented by Mr Victor Omodara appreciated the teachers for the tireless efforts in guiding and mentoring the students. “Your leadership and expertise have been instrumental in shaping our young athletes into the talented individuals we see before us today.
“Today, we gather to celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and the spirit of competition. As we begin this competition, I urge all participants to remember the true spirit of sportsmanship. Let us compete with honour, integrity, and respect for one another”.

He unveiled various supports for sporting activities in the school as well as yearly excursion for Ejioba students to Top Universities within Nigeria.
He also unveiled Ayodele Falaye Educational Trust Fund with the aim of paying for tuition, books, and/or other education related expenses of prospective beneficiaries at Ejioba High School Oba-lle. He stressed that the Trust fund is to be managed by a Committee with a yearly sum of N500,000 starting 2025.
“Do good for others to strengthen Human Capital Development, not for recognition, but, that is the right thing to do”, he concluded.
Major highlight of the competition included; match past, 100M senior girls and boys, 200 junior girls and boys, 200M senior girls and boys, 400M junior girls and boys, 400M senior girls and boys, 4X100M relay race.
Other highlights are cultural display, staff race and relay among other invited schools.
The winning house, Red House is Hon. Ayodele Falaye House, Green House which came second is Chief Adinlewa House, Yellow House, Oloba Of Oba Ile House came third and Blue House, Chief Oluwatimilehin House came fourth.
