Gov Aiyedatiwa reiterates commitment to completing projects for people’s benefit

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that projects are completed for the benefit of the people of the State.

The Governor made this emphasis during a working visit to Ondo State by the Minister Of Works, Engr. David Umahi for a 2nd interactive session on the Ondo State axis of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project on Thursday.

The meeting, which held at the Government House in Akure, is a follow up to the first stakeholders meeting held on October 31, 2024 on the project.

The Governor said “as we convene to discuss the Federal Government’s road projects in our State, it is worth mentioning the importance of collaborative governance and symbiotic relationship between the federal and state governments in driving national development.

“We recognise that the successful execution of these projects is contingent upon the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders. Consequently, we are willing to work in tandem with the Federal Government, the contractors and other critical stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of these projects.

“The Ondo State Government is committed to creating an enabling environment that fosters the seamless execution of these projects. We will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure adequate security is provided for site workers, and they are also safeguarded from unnecessary harassment and extortion. We will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure that these projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and within the stipulated timelines.

Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciated the Federal Government for their investment in Ondo State. “I am confident that the successful completion of these projects will have a transformative impact on the socio-economic landscape of our State. As we move forward, I urge all stakeholders to remain committed to our shared vision of developing Ondo State into a prosperous and sustainable economy. Together, we can achieve greatness”.

While soliciting for more support from President Tinubu, especially in the actualisation of the Deep Sea Port, the tackling of Ayetoro sea incursion, amongst others, Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciated him for his unwavering commitment to bridging the road infrastructure gap in Ondo State.

The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, while addressing the stakeholders meeting, gave an update on the preparations for the execution of the 71km alignment of Ondo State in the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.

The Minister commended the government and people of the State for the support given to the project, adding that all the necessary steps to its execution have been taken.

Umahi also commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his keen interest in the infrastructural development of the State, promising that all Federal road projects in the State would be given speedy execution.

The Minister also promised that the federal government will soon shift its focus to the execution of the Aiyetoro shoreline protection project.

In attendance were; The Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philip, Attorney General and Commisoner for Justice, Dr Olukayode Ajulo, Commissioner for finance, Mrs Omowunmi Isaac, traditional rulers, among others.
