We’re committed to make Ondo State where youths can blossom – Gov Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has reiterated his administration’s commitment to working tirelessly to ensure that the State remains a place where youths can blossom and reach their full potential.

The Governor made this emphasis during an interactive session with Ondo State Youths group at the Dome on Tuesday.

He also emphasised that his administration is dedicated to unlocking the potential of the youths, providing opportunities for them to thrive and also committed to creating an environment that fosters growth, innovation and empowerment.

“We acknowledge with pride that the Sunshine State is filled with tremendous energy of the youth. Whatever future we desire, we must keep the youth at the centre. By this, our State can surge ahead at an unmatchable pace! You are the leaders of tomorrow and we are committed to investing in your future. Youth is the trustee of prosperity. We believe that you are the backbone of development in any society and we are determined to provide you with the support and resources you need to succeed.

” Our administration is committed to creating a brighter future for all Ondo State citizens and we believe that the youths are key to achieving this dream.We are proud of the progress we have made so far and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead”.

He urged them to continue to stay focused and join hands with the present administration to develop the Sunshine State. “We must never dissipate our God given talents and energies on negative tendencies that are antithetical to our State’s development, or mutually incompatible with the progress and well-being of our people”.

“We must work together to promote peace and stability, foster a sense of community, unleash your potential”.

Governor Aiyedatiwa stressed that the State Government is working round the clock with the security agencies and are making progress. “We will not allow criminals to have comfort in our State. Right now, criminal elements who recently strayed into our forests and farmsteads are facing the heat”.

While assuring law abiding citizens of protection, the Governor pledged to continue to smoke out criminal elements that may threaten the peace and security of the State. “We urge for your collaboration with both the Government and security agencies to continue to sustain our reputation as one of the most secure and peaceful States in Nigeria”, he concluded.

Earlier in his address, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth empower and job creation, Mr Benedict Orioye Gbayisemore appreciated the Governor for his passion towards youth development, lauding Governor Aiyedatiwa’s giant strides.

He said “We have witness an unprecedented commitment to the development and upliftment of our youths”.

Gbayisemore highlighted initiatives such as the payment of WAEC fees, scholarships, teachers’ recruitment, and the One Youth, One Skill scheme. He urged the youth to take ownership of the administration’s vision and play active roles in building a progressive Ondo State

During their separate remarks, stakeholders from the three senatorial districts, Mr. Abiola Obanoyen from the Northern District, Miss Yewande Omobomi from the Central District, and Mr. Jonathan Obatola from the Southern District, echoed similar sentiments as they commended the governor for his youth-friendly policies and unwavering commitment to youth welfare. However, they urged the governor to do more for young people so that they can continue to have a sense of belonging.

Speaking on insecurities, the State Commandant of Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye noted that the command is in conjunction with other security agencies to ensure that normalcy is returned to the State.

He urged the people of the State to be security conscious and report any suspicious movement immediately, stressing that security is not a one man business.

In attendance were; The Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, State Chairman of APC, Engr Ade Adetimehin, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Director General, OSRC Media group, Mr Kenneth Stevenson, Local Government Chairmen, among others.
