Ondo students express confidence in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership

The National Association of Ondo State students (NAOSS) has expressed their confidence in the leadership of Governor Likxy Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

The students, during O’dirorun Student Easter retreat, a 3-Day Student Engagement with Mr. Governor”, held at Ojaja Park in Akure, commended his administration for its commitment to education, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.

While expressing their support, the students noted that the governor’s leadership has brought renewed hope to the youth in the state.

theme of the retreat is “Synergy For Impact: Shaping The Future of Students In Ondo State”.

In his address, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa noted that his administration is full ready to listen and dialogue with the Students to ensure that their learning environment are conducive and provided necessary support needed.

The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti added that the requests brought to the table will be addressed as the Governor runs an open door policy.

He opined that they are free to engage him anytime the need arises and ensure that they allow dialogue to take place to avoid creating more problems.

He appealed to them to take the retreat serious and ensure that they are impacted and could leave their footsteps in the sand of time, urging them to key into the 7 points Agenda of “Our Ease” of Governor Aiyedatiwa.

Earlier in his address, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Students Affairs, Mr Kelvin Solomon Olaoluwa described the event as more than just a retreat but a strategic platform to exchange ideas aimed at shaping the lives of students and enhancing their role in national development.

He noted that the platform is also a reflection of the government’s deliberate commitment to listen, collaborate and empower students as key stakeholders in the future of the nation.

Also speaking, The Special Assistant to Governor Aiyedatiwa on photography, Miss Motunrayo Oyedele noted that youths need to be involved in what is going on, so as not to be left behind as we are in a world of technology. She added that youths must be motivated and learn everyday.

She stressed that leadership is not about control or being in charge but taking care of the people one is in charge of. She urged the youths to learn new things everyday and do things that will distinguish them in their different fields.

Former Chairman, Ilaje Local Government, Hon. Banji Okunomo appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for his friendliness to the students community and ensuring that they participate in his administration.

He urged the students to make a difference wherever they find themselves and ensure that they contribute their own quota to the development of the society.

Vice Chancellor, Sam Marris University, Supare Akoko, Prof Francis Ayodeji Gbore, urged the youth to compromise and shift grounds to be able to have a meeting point.

The State President of National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), Senator Ahmed Oyelade appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for fulfilling his promises to the students and for being committed to the students’ community, expressed his confidence in the Governor to do more.

In attendance were: Vice Chancellor, Sam Marris University, Supare Akoko, Prof Francis Ayodeji Gbore, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth empower and job creation, Mr Benedict Orioye Gbayisemore, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Community engagement, Central, Hon. Femi Fadairo, among others.
