We’ll make Deji’s coronation ceremony remarkable – Gov. Ayedatiwa

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa has promised to ensure that the State Government gives its support and participate actively in the forthcoming 10th Coronation ceremony of the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi.
The Governor stated this while receiving the delegation of the anniversary planning committee chaired by Mr Femi Meshe.

The Governor who eulogised the Akure Monarch said, the Deji is my close person. He is a very good person to me. He has the traditional authority and I also have the authority as the Governor, we have both used our authority to collaborate and ensure that Akure is peaceful and the entire Ondo State by extension.

The Governor who was visibly elated thanked the Committee under the leadership of Mr Femi Meshe for doing a wonderful job. The atmosphere is really becoming interesting and the news is already all over the country. I am aware of the tentacles of Kabiyesi across the globe. I know that people are coming all the way from America, Europe and other parts of the world as well as from across the country.

The Governor promised to ensure that security is beefed up during the ceremony.
Speaking earlier, Olu Adekunle Ajanaku who led the delegation thanked the Governor for the Love he had shown to the indigenes of Akure and the Monarchy. We know beyond doubt that Mr Governor holds our Revered Kabiyesi and his people in high esteem. We are not surprised by all your good works and efforts to transform Akure into a befitting State Capital that can meet up with others across the nation.

We want to thank your Excellency for all these great efforts and all others that are on the way especially the proposed flyover at Oba Adesida Road.

Olu Ajanaku highlighted the programme of events to include a colloquium, sport activities, empowerment programme, music carnival, homage and parade, interdenominational service and conferment of Chieftaincy titles to some respective individuals.

The Governor promised to attend the events and also give state support.
He also promised to direct the Ministry of Works to commence work on the rehabilitation of the palace entrance and other adjoining routes in order to give the palace a facelift.
The ceremony is scheduled to hold between the 16th and 20th of July, 2025 in Akure.

Other members of the delegation were Senior High Chief Sola Adegbonmire, Chief Akin Adinlewa, Chief (Mrs) Adefunmilayo Adekanye and a host of others. The Secretary to State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Hon. Ebenezer Adeniyan who both hail from Akure were present at the meeting.
