We’re determined to serve better – Ondo lawmakers

Lawmakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly have reaffirmed their commitment to fulfilling their constitutional duties, emphasizing the need for divine guidance and the fear of God to lead effectively in the interest of the people.
They expressed this resolve during a special thanksgiving service held at the Government House Chapel, Akure. The service aligned with the state government’s directive instructing ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to designate a day for worship at the chapel.

Members of the Assembly, along wiith staff, gathered at the chapel to thank God for His love, faithfulness, and the grace to witness the midpoint of the year.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, who led the delegation, said the Assembly had faced numerous challenges over the years but remained united and complete in number. He was represented by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ololade Gbegudu.
Oladiji emphasized that Nigeria needs visionary and God-fearing leaders to overcome its challenges. He assured that the House would continue to enact people-oriented laws aimed at improving the lives of residents across the state.

Commending Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s developmental agenda, the Speaker expressed confidence that the administration would deliver all-round transformation and lasting prosperity to the state.
He pledged the continued collaboration of the legislature with the executive arm of government for the overall progress and well-being of the citizens.
Also speaking, the Majority Leader, Hon. Olatunji Oshati, noted that despite various personal and collective challenges, the lawmakers remained steadfast. He expressed gratitude for the gift of life and encouraged all members and staff to stay united in faith as they journey through the remaining months of 2025.
In his remarks, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa appreciated the lawmakers for joining the worship service. He stressed that building the Ondo State of everyone’s dreams requires the collective effort of all stakeholders.
The service concluded with intercessory prayers for peace, progress, and development in the state.
