Dele Omosehin, the leading APC aspirant for Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the coming 2027 national assembly elections, has extended his warmest congratulations to Ambassador Sola Iji on his well-deserved nomination as a non-career ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Iji’s name was one of the 65 ambassador-designates sent by President Bola Tinubu to the Senate for confirmation. He and Senator Jimoh Ibrahim are the two non-career ambassador-nominees from Ondo State.

The new ambassadorial nominee had previously served as Nigeria’s envoy to Togo during the presidency of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a press statement on Friday by the Asejere Media Team, Omosehin, who is the founder of Bamidele Omosehin Foundation(BOF), said Comrade Iji’s nomination speaks to his decades of unwavering commitment to public service, unionism, his diplomatic depth, and the exemplary leadership he has consistently demonstrated over the years.

“Ambassador Iji’s distinguished record, including his tenure as Nigeria’s envoy to Togo, speaks eloquently of a man whose experience and patriotism continue to enrich our nation,” the businessman and philanthropist said.

The APC chieftain commended President BolaTinubu, GCFR, for the thoughtful and strategic nomination, saying, once again, the President has demonstrated his keen eye for competence, capacity and character by selecting an astute politician and seasoned diplomat whose contributions to national development are undeniable.

“This nomination reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic corps with individuals of proven integrity and expertise, ” a part of the statement noted.

“Ambassador Iji has always been a source of inspiration to many of us in Ondo State and beyond. His nomination represents a recognition of merit and a clear affirmation that dedication to service does not go unnoticed. I am confident that he will once again make Nigeria proud and bring honour to the nation in his new assignment., he said.

Omosehin, who is the Lisa of Osooro Kingdom, wished Ambassador Sola Iji every success in this new chapter of service and prayed for wisdom, strength and continued grace as he takes on this important national responsibility.
