Renewed Hope Ambassadors will deepen democracy, promote Tinubu’s achievements — Olabimtan

By Precious Oluwole

The State Director-General and Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Ondo State, Victor Olabimtan, has reiterated the group’s commitment to vigorously promoting the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Olabimtan who also serves as Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) disclosed this during an interview on Friday.

Speaking on the objectives of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, clarified that the movement is designed to sustain and propagate the hope President Tinubu brought into office in 2023.

According to him, “When President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was coming in 2023, he came with hope for the people of Nigeria. And now we want to renew that hope. That is why we now have Renew Hope Ambassador or Renew Hope Initiative.”

Olabimtan explained that the core mandate of the group is to educate Nigerians on what the President has done, what he is doing and what he is positioned to achieve.

He said the campaign will help citizens appreciate the impact of the administration’s policies.

He noted that the President inherited numerous challenges on assumption of office, especially in the economy.

He pointed to the removal of fuel subsidy as a major turning point, insisting that despite the initial shocks, the policy has increased revenue for all tiers of government.

He said the improved finances have enabled federal, state and local governments to meet their salary obligations without delay.

“It was because this money that used to go to few individuals is now brought to one place and distributed to all Nigerians,” he stated.

The SUBEB chairman added that infrastructural development across the country, including in Ondo State has become more visible because government now has more resources to work with.

While acknowledging the initial rise in the cost of living, he maintained that food prices are now dropping, petrol prices stabilising, and the naira gaining strength.

He argued that the economy is beginning to recover, saying, “Things are changing… That is the way an economy should be.”

Olabimtan stressed that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors aim not only to publicise government achievements but also to strengthen democracy.

He said democracy is the only system capable of transforming Nigeria, adding that even developed nations faced years of evolution before attaining stability.

“Nigeria is now on the move. Nigeria is rising. Nigeria is going up,” he said.

On party mobilisation, he stated that the initiative will equip party members with the right information to promote Tinubu’s administration effectively.

He insisted that if Nigerians fully understand the impact of the government’s policies, the 2027 elections would be straightforward.

He predicted that the next election would be so transparent that losers would have no grounds to challenge the outcome in court. With real-time result transmission, he said citizens would be able to determine the winner even before the final announcement.

On security, Olabimtan admitted that Nigeria still faces challenges but argued that the government is responding more effectively than in the past. He noted that kidnap victims now stand better chances of being found and rescued.

He assured that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will take the campaign across every community in Ondo State, mobilising the press, radio and other platforms to enlighten residents on the administration’s strides and the need to continue supporting President Tinubu.

“Everybody in Ondo State will be aware. We are going to mobilise them to let the people know what government is doing and the need to continue to go along with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
