Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Forum in Ondo State, Alhaji Jamiu Ekungba, has applauded Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what he described as a governance approach anchored on broad consultation and stakeholder engagement.
Speaking in an interview at a stakeholders’ gathering in Akure, Ekungba said every leader operates with a distinct administrative style, noting that Aiyedatiwa’s style places priority on carrying all critical groups along.
He said the governor’s approach aligns with established principles of corporate governance, particularly in recognising and engaging stakeholders across all segments of the party and society.
According to him, stakeholders within the APC cut across elders, youths, women, public office holders and those outside government, adding that harmonising the views of such diverse groups is essential for effective leadership.
Ekungba stressed that leadership thrives when a leader occasionally presents his decisions to stakeholders for input, describing such engagement as “leadership in practice.”
He commended the Aiyedatiwa administration for sustaining the initiative and urged participants not to dismiss stakeholder meetings as mere ceremonies but to regard them as crucial pillars of governance.
He called on members to offer constructive contributions that would guide the government’s actions, saying such feedback would help the administration understand the people’s expectations.
Ekungba expressed appreciation to the government for sustaining the consultative platform and encouraged it to continue along that path.
