The Ondo State Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, has extended warm felicitations to the people of the state as it marks the 50th anniversary of its creation, describing the milestone as a moment of collective pride, reflection and renewed hope.
In a statement to commemorate the golden jubilee, Akinlosotu said the anniversary offered an opportunity to appreciate the resilience and shared sacrifices of our founding fathers and the people whose contributions, he noted, had shaped the political, economic and cultural evolution of the state over five decades.
He observed that Ondo State’s journey since inception had been defined by perseverance and steady progress, adding that the landmark celebration pointed out the importance of unity and continuity in advancing development.
The commissioner congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for presiding over the state at such a historic moment, commending his purposeful leadership and commitment to inclusive governance, peace and stability.
Akinlosotu noted that the present administration had continued to strengthen engagement with Ondo indigenes in the Diaspora, positioning them as critical partners in the State’s development agenda.
He expressed optimism that the next chapter of the State’s history would deliver improved socio-economic outcomes for residents, urging citizens at home and in the Diaspora to remain committed to supporting government initiatives.
According to him, the Ministry of Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations would sustain efforts aimed at projecting Ondo State positively on the global stage, while harnessing the skills and resources of its citizens in the Diaspora to drive development beyond the golden jubilee.
