Aiyedatiwa named as PBAT door-to-door movement patron

…..Says winning Ondo State for Tinubu is settled

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday accepted his appointment as Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and assuring the group of the state’s support for its grassroots mobilisation campaign.

While receiving the leadership of the PBAT Door-to-Door movement at his office in Akure, the Governor described the decision as an executive commitment.

“I have declared before now that Ondo State is for Tinubu 2027. That is an executive order for us,” he said.

The governor said the choice of Ondo State as the South-West base of the movement demonstrated confidence in the state, adding that the government would support all groups working towards the president’s re-election.

“All the support groups, as long as you are mobilising for President Tinubu, the state government will support your work,” he stated.

He urged the movement to focus on grassroots mobilisation through its door-to-door approach, stressing that every voter and household would play a crucial role in the election.

“Everywhere you go, every vote will count. Every door matters because on every door you have voters in there and you must access them,” Aiyedatiwa said.

The governor noted that effective political mobilisation went beyond publicity materials, emphasising the importance of committed individuals reaching out to voters at the grassroots.

He also assured the group that the state government would assist it in securing a space for its operations in Ondo State, where it could establish its presence, display banners and coordinate activities before expanding to local government areas.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of PBAT Door-to-Door, Comrade Asuku Sunday Adekanbi, said the movement was in Ondo State to identify with Governor Aiyedatiwa and appreciate his achievements in office.

Adekanbi described the governor’s administration as a continuation of development in the state, commending his efforts in addressing insecurity and improving infrastructure.

“For a very long time, I was an academic staff of Federal Polytechnic and I used to ply the Abuja route to Ondo State, Akure precisely. I can tell that you have sustained the battle against insecurity. Personally, I am proud of you. I hope other governors will also emulate your giant stride,” he said.

He said the movement, which started over a year ago, was established to mobilise support for President Tinubu and ensure an overwhelming victory for him in 2027.

Adekanbi disclosed that the group had created structures from the national level to local governments, wards and polling units, with a target of mobilising 10 million votes for the president.

He added that the movement would embark on door-to-door and community-to-community sensitisation to highlight government achievements and tackle misinformation.

The coordinator also commended Aiyedatiwa for sustaining the programmes of his predecessor, the late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, saying the movement would continue to promote continuity.

The South-West Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Adekunle Orisamoluwa, praised the governor’s investments in infrastructure, education and youth empowerment, particularly the approval of five kilometres of road projects in each local government area.

He said the “one youth, one skill” initiative and the involvement of young people in governance reflected Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to youth development.

The movement appealed to the governor to support the establishment of its South-West secretariat in Ondo State and assist with mobility to strengthen its operations across the region.

Olajide Oguntodu; and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Mr Smart Omodunbi.
