Deji visits Ogbolu to strengthen Akure speaking communities unity

……We will break walls of disunity – Ogbolu of Ita-Ogbolu

The Deji & Paramount Ruler of Akure Land, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi has paid another historic visit to the Ogbolu of Ita-Ogbolu and Stakeholders in the community. The visit was in fulfilment of the promise made by the Deji to reach out to Traditional Rulers across the Akure Speaking Communities and to further strengthen their unity.

 

Oba Aladetoyinbo stressed the importance and the need for unity and cordial relationship among the Akure Speaking Communities which will in turn strengthen cultural affinity and build inseparable bonds for harmonious relationship.
Discussions between the two Traditional Rulers and stakeholders from both communities centered on community development and collaborative efforts to enhance the well-being and fortunes of the Akure Speaking Communities.

Oba Aladetoyinbo said that he remained an integral part of Akure North Local Government and had played prominent roles in governance and political landscape of the community before his ascension to the throne of his forebears. “I would have become the Council Chairman here if not for change of government. You all know me that I played politics with you, my father was the Olu of Alayere and my blood brother is currently an Oba as the Oriade of Alayere, so I belong here in body, soul and mind”, Oba Aladetoyinbo said.
Oba Ogunlade urged everyone to bury their hatchets and look at the larger gains and developments that will accompany oneness and cooperation among the great people of Akure speaking communities.

In his response, the Ogbolu of Ita-Ogbolu, Oba Idowu Faborode thanked the Deji for the very significant visit and resolve to ensure that our communities in Akure Speaking Communities are united. Oba Faborode said that no sacrifice is too big for peace and unity. There can’t be development in its real sense in any environment where there is acrimony and distrust. The Monarch pledge his commitment to ensuring that the barriers and walls of division is finally broken to pave way for true and lasting reconciliation.

Stakeholders at the meeting strongly appreciated both Monarch’s move to reconcile everyone for the purpose of achieving a lasting peace and unity.
The Chairman of the Akure Speaking Communities Summit, Air Commodore Adewale Ogunmodede (Rtd.) used the occasion to officially present the summit report to the Ogbolu and seek a robust participation of all Ita-Ogbolu Sons and daughters in the unity drive.

Stakeholders at the meeting includes; Chief Femi Aluko, Olu Adekunle Ajanaku, Surveyor Sunday Ajayi, Prince Olawale Ademola, Rev. Ogunlade, Chief S.T Ojo, Hon. Ebenezer Alabi, Pastor John Kolawole, Male and Female Chiefs, youth Leaders, Mr. Ayodeji Kolawole, the Imam of Ita-Ogbolu amongst others.
