The Ondo State Government is set to convene female permanent secretaries, heads of government agencies and parastatals, elected and appointed female officials, women political leaders and women-led non-governmental organisations for a one-day capacity-building workshop and retreat.
The programme, organised by the Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Nibanola Motherland Resort and Golf, along the Ondo-Ore Road, Igabado, Ondo City.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Osamaye, disclosed this in a statement, saying the initiative was designed to strengthen the capacity of women in leadership and strategic positions while providing a platform for experience sharing and collaboration.
According to her, the workshop, themed “Our Ease: An Appraisal of Unity of Purpose,” will focus on strengthening partnerships among women leaders and ensuring their continued active participation in the development of the state.
Osamaye said the programme would go beyond formal capacity building, as participants would have opportunities for networking, social interaction and recreation.
She added that the event would also strengthen relationships among women in government, political organisations, NGOs and other strategic groups, while providing an avenue for participants to reflect on their collective contributions to the advancement of women and society.
The Commissioner said the programme would commence with a cocktail dinner on Tuesday, September 8, while participants would engage in mountain hiking and other outdoor activities at the resort on Wednesday, September 9.
Osamaye expressed appreciation to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his commitment to the development and empowerment of women in Ondo State.
She also commended the wife of the Governor, Mrs Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, for her motherly roles and contributions to women-related initiatives in the state.
The Commissioner explained that participation in the workshop would be based on confirmed registration, noting that the gathering was expected to foster stronger unity and collaboration among women leaders across different sectors.
She said the initiative was part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to build a stronger network of women leaders capable of contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic and political development of Ondo State.I can also give you 3–5 punchier newspaper headlines with a more political or human-interest angle.
