Investigate Deliberate Age Falsification by Local Government Officials, Salami Writes Acting Governor

A Local Government official, Mr Salami Adekunle Jimoh from Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State has written to the Acting Governor of the State, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa to investigate the deliberate alteration of dates of birth by some officials in the Local Government.

In a letter addressed to the Acting Governor, Salami said that “I wish to keep your office abreast of the attempt by the offices of the Head of Service and the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission to bring several representations by official communication made to their respective offices on the falsification of dates of birth by Mr. Abiodun Akintade, Permanent Secretary, Local Government PTAD, Mr. Rapheal Akinrotimi, HOLGA, Ifedore Local Government and Mrs. Morenike Adejoro, HOLGA, Akure North Local Government.

“The above persons, your Excellency, have at one time or the other deliberately altered their dates of birth to gain more years in service and by implication cheating, short-changing and hampering the destiny of others from attaining heights of fulfilled career.

“It will interest His Excellency to know that, the Local Government Service Commission at her statutory meetings deliberated and resolved to taking concrete action of informing HOLGAs of Ifedore and Akure North to compulsorily retire but, the Chairman of the Commission has been reluctant to execute the decision because the families of those concerned are sympathetic to the political course of Mr. Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission”.

He added that the Head of Service whose office superintends the PTAD has chosen to cover up the wickedness of Mr. Abiodun Akintade being his maternal relation from Ikare-Akoko. The Head of Service in an effort that will yield no result directed the Department of Service Matter to focus its findings on his file which he has criminally falsified and reconstructed after his appointment as Permanent Secretary.

“This we have written and communicated to Mr. HOS who for reasons best known to him wants to shun voice of reason by doing what will further jeopardise the system and subjugate the integrity of the service.

Salami, however, requested that the above claims be thoroughly investigated, the aforementioned officers be made to present their individual BVN print out, primary school leaving certificates, the LGSC Seniority List of DLGA from 2007 and especially as at June, 2018, their original files, the 2013 verification exercise report be used as part of instrument of verification.
