The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has graced the final burial ceremony of Late Deaconess Grace Olayemi Sowore at Methodist Church of Nigeria, Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government.

Governor Aiyedatiwa thanked God on behalf of the Sowore family as he paid his respects at the funeral ceremony.

He said “We each contribute to humanity in various roles, as I believe that God has called upon each of us to serve in our own unique capacities. The departed soul fulfilled her calling, which is why she has been called back home. Life is a journey for all of us, and it is my prayer that each of us fulfills our destiny as she did. I extend my congratulations to the entire family, as the departed soul lived a life of purpose.”

The governor however, urged religious leaders to keep praying for the Government.

Earlier, In his sermon, titled “The Judgment Day”, the Archbishop of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Diocese of Igbobini, Most Rev. Dr. Olugbenga Fafeyiwa stated that it is the work that everyone does while on earth that would be judged with on the last day without compromise.

He said “As we gather here today to bid farewell to our departed loved one, we are reminded of the inevitability of the Judgement Day. The Judgement Day, spoken of in scriptures, is a time when each soul will be called to account for their deeds in this life.

For our departed friend, Late Deaconess Grace Olayemi Sowore, this day has come. But let us not be filled with fear or despair, for we trust in the mercy and grace of our Lord”

The Cleric described Late Mrs Sowore has a woman who served God wholeheartedly and love the people around her charging the children to emulate their mother.

Speaking on behalf of the Children of Mama, the Commissioner – Designate, Akogun Akinwunmi Sowore thanked families, friends and political associates for joining him and his siblings to pay last respect to their late mother.

In his words “Though our hearts are heavy with grief, but they are also filled with immense gratitude for the love, support, and kindness that you have shown us during this difficult time. Your presence here today is proof to the impact that our mother had on we that survived her”

“Thank you, once again, for your presence, your prayers, and your support during this time that we celebrate the life of our beloved mother. We are truly blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives”

Late Mrs Grace Olayemi Sowore is the mother of Ondo Commissioner – Designate and Akogun of Apoi Land, Akinwunmi Sowore, who formerly served as Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Corporative under the administration of the Late Ondo Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
