Ondo govt to collaborate with Immigration Service to eradicate human trafficking

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has said that the State government would collaborate with the Nigeria Immigration Service to totally eradicate human trafficking in the State.
Governor Aiyedatiwa made this known while recieving officers Nigeria Immigration Service, Ondo State command in his office on Tuesday.
The Governor said human trafficking is a menace has to be put under check and control. He added that the business is still on going, even though it has been curbed to some extent.
He stressed that the security agencies should be actively involved in eradicating human trafficking.
The Governor emphasized more on not allowing Non-Nigerians participate in the forthcoming Ondo Guber Poll for hitch-free electoral exercise.
Governor Aiyedatiwa pledged the State government’s continuous support for all the security agencies in the State towards providing maximum protection for the people.
Earlier in his address, the Comptroller of Immigration Service, Ondo State command, CIS Ambrose Akinrinsola who led the team to the office of the Governor stated that the command is trying it’s best in ensuring that Ondo residents don’t stress themselves to get their passports.
According to him, they are trying their best in their offices, stressing that other passport offices will be located in other parts of the State.
He added that Ondo residents don’t need to go outside the State to get their passports or renew their papers.
He further stated that officials of Nigeria Immigration Service will be in collaboration other security agencies to ensure that things that needed to be done will be done and to ensure that those who are not eligible to vote will not vote and won’t be used to disturb the election.
He added that there are proper documents and resident permit for expertriates who are residents in Ondo State.
He lauded the Governor on the various infrastructural development going on in the State.
In attendance were; Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, Commissioner for information, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, Commissioner for Physical planning and urban development, Hon. Gbenga Olaniyi.
