Social Democratic party (SDP) on Thursday, collapsed their structure for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s gubernatorial ambition.

Recieving the members of the SDP, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, described the occasion as an important and remarkable one.

He said “Democracy is a game of number and APC is so large that it can accommodate many people as possible, today is remarkable, in the sense that one of the formidable party in Ondo State, SDP decided to lay their entire structure for APC.

“Our party is a moving train, it’s not moving too fast that others cannot catch up with the train. One good thing about our party is that the time you join this party doesn’t really matter, once you join a party, you become a part and parcel of the family”.

He stressed that they have made a very good decision by joining APC, assuring them that the party, under the leadership of the party under Engr. Ade Adetimehin, there will not be any exclusion or discrimination and their value will be recognised.

Earlier, the State Chairman, SDP, Mr Tope Ajulo, noted that their solidarity with Aiyedatiwa started in June, 2023, during the impeachment saga and SDP wrote many publication, to make sure that there’s sanity in the State.

According to him, all the 203 wards in Ondo State collapsed their structure for the success of Aiyedatiwa.

He described the Governor as a home builder, humble, easy going and someone that God has ordained, that no one can fight.

The State chairman of APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin represented by the Deputy Chairman, Mr Agabra Atili, expressed his happiness and appreciated them for their support for the Governor, adding that they won’t regret coming to APC.

The event also featured inauguration of a new campaign office in Akure.
