Ondo State Government has rolled out activities lined up for the first youth retreat coming up in the State in October.

Addressing the newsmen on Friday at the Governor’s office, the State Commisoner for youths and sports development, Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye noted that the 3-day event will hold between 2nd-4th of October, 2024.

According to Ogunleye, the youths across the State would be in attendance at the retreat, irrespective of their political affiliation to empower, reorientate and formulate a policy to make them self reliant.

He noted that the highlight of the retreat includes; exhibition of trade by the youths, training, agricultural Innovations, ICT, talk shows, award presentation among others.

Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on youth Empowerment, Mr Orioye Igbayisemore said the project is run by the government of Ondo State in collaboration with Private individuals and organizations.

He added that notable Ondo state entrepreneurs and personalities would be in attendance to speak to the youths to encourage them and bring the best out of them.

Mr Igbayosemore noted that the Minister of State For Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande will be among the keynote speakers, while Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa would recieve a policy document that will direct the path of the youths of the State.

He also noted that aside the various awards and recognitions and other activities, 20 best youths would be empowered with the sum of five hundred thousand naira, based on their chosen enterprise and business speech presented by them.

He stressed that the program would be continuous a one in the State so that the youths will be engaged, empowered and employed.
