A life well lived: Gov. Aiyedatiwa, Adegbonmire, and others celebrate Late Tayo Oluwatuyi

It was an evening of remembrance, gratitude, and a reaffirmation of faith at the service of song and Christian wake of the Late Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi held at Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade, Alagbaka, Akure, the State capital on Friday.

The Service of Songs was not merely an expression of grief but a testament to the profound truth that a life rooted in faith leaves an indelible mark on all who are touched by it.

In his remarks, Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa noted that the Late Oluwatuyi had served humanity in various positions and represented different personalities to different people.

He urged the family, friends and associates to see the time he spent with them as a source of strength and encouragement.

Earlier in his testimony, Senator Representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire noted that Late Oluwatuyi’s passage is an unbearable pain, stressing that Akure kingdom has lost a great son. He discribed him as an incredible politician and a philanthropist.

Pastor Adenigba who spoke on behalf of the members of the deceased church described him as a dedicated member, who was already ready to participate in God’s work.

Mrs Jumoke Adeola, the deceased daughter noted that their father’s act of kindness and generosity is what everybody should emulate, stressing that it was indeed a great blessing to have him as their father.

In his exhortation titled “Where will Christ meet you”, the General Superintendent, Pastor James onagwa noted that Jesus Christ will come when no one expects.

Taking his scripture Matthew 24 verse 35, he noted that everyone will leave the earth one day but no one knows when. “You do not own yourself, you’re a stranger in this world and you will definitely leave one day. You should get yourself prepared, wherever death meets you, that’s where eternity meets you.

“No matter what you have, just know it is temporary, what you should work on is how you will join Him wen you definitely leave this earth. You need to prepare yourself for that unknown time”.

The event featured special prayer for the children and the family of the deceased.

In attendance were; The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olayide Adelami, the State Chairman of APC, Engr Ade Adetimehin, Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Ayo Olawande, Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola, Secretary to the State Government of Ekiti State, Prof Abeebat Omolara Adubiaro, members of the Ondo State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, immediate past members of the State Executive Council, former APC gubernatorial candidate, Chief Olusola Oke, among other top government officials.
