Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Legislative and Party Affairs, Babatunde Kolawole, has described Governor Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s leadership as transformative, placing citizens at the centre of governance.
In an interview with Weekend Hope, Kolawole, who is popularly known as Amaechi, said the governor’s quarterly stakeholders’ meetings are designed to ensure residents can engage directly with the state leadership, voice their concerns, and gain clarity on government policies and development initiatives.
“Development has its bottom-top approach. A governor must listen to the people he serves. These meetings bring residents to Akure to share their challenges and interact directly with the leadership,” he said.
Kolawole explained that the initiative promotes collaboration between the governor, party leaders and citizens, providing a platform to discuss matters that affect public welfare.
“The governor addressed attendees, highlighted key achievements and offered insight into ongoing projects, giving residents a clear understanding of government activities,” he added.
The Special Adviser also revealed that the governor will, on Monday, embark on a tour of local government areas to meet residents personally.
“This is unprecedented. Past governors rarely visited communities more than a few times. Aiyedatiwa is taking governance directly to the grassroots,” Kolawole said.
He described the initiative as a model of participatory governance, promoting transparency, inclusivity and citizen engagement.
